Jaclyn Burns, PA-C

Jaclyn Burns graduated from Yale University School of Medicine Physician Associate Program in 1993. She is NCCPA Certified in Primary Care and Surgery. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Johnson State College in Allied Health/Physical Therapy.

While at Yale University she was an honors recipient for her medical review paper: Surgical Alternatives in the Treatment of Subacromial Impingement Syndrome. She was also the winner of the National Peter Nyquist Medical Writing Award in 1994 and presented her paper at 1994 National Physician Assistant Conference in San Antonio, Texas.

Jaclyn is on the medical staff at Hospital of St. Raphael, Yale New Haven Hospital and Milford Hospital. Since graduation from Yale in 1993, she has been working with Dr. Irving, specializing in general orthopedics and adult reconstructive surgery. Jaclyn assists Dr. Irving in surgery. She also runs her own schedule in the office seeing patients both preoperatively and postoperatively. She is in direct contact with Dr. Irving should any emergencies or problems arise.

She counts among her many interests, sailing, skiing and scuba diving. Jaclyn was a professional ski instructor and racer in Vermont prior to her move to Connecticut in 1988. In recent years she spends her time off-shore sailing and racing, having participated in several Marion and Newport to Bermuda Yacht Races. She holds a U.S Coast Guard Master Captain's License.
