Sherri O'Connor is a licensed Physician Assistant, Board-Certified by the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and licensed by the State of Connecticut. She brings a multi-faceted background, ranging in sports medicine, general orthopaedics, and orthopaedic surgery, both in private practice and in a hospital setting to The Orthopaedic Group, a division of Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists. The entirety of her career as a Board Certified Physician Assistant has been weighted in Orthopaedics and Spine Related Disorders.

Sherri completed her undergraduate program at Southern Connecticut State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology. She then completed her education at Touro College – Long Island with a second Bachelor of Science degree as a Physician Assistant.

An outpatient orthopaedic setting in Stamford, Connecticut, with privileges at Stamford Hospital was the start of Sherri’s extensive knowledge in orthopaedics for the first 8 years of her career.  This was followed by a two year period working as one of the Physician Assistants on the Orthopaedic Service at the Hospital of St.Raphael in New Haven, Connecticut. 

In the Fall of 2012, Sherri joined the busy Orthopaedic Spine Surgery Practice of Dr. Shirvinda A.Wijesekera at The Orthopaedic Group, a division of Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists. She works in tandem with Dr.Wijesekera in his spine practice as his sole Physician Assistant.

In her off hours, Sherri enjoys listening to country music, watching Nascar, and road biking.
